Thorpe Park ride reviews:

The main park is split into 7 different sections - Lost City, Canada Creek, Ranger County, Calypso Quay, Amity Cove, Neptune's Kingdom and Octopus' Garden. There is also Atlantis which is the entrance plaza over the bridge from the main entrance, and Thorpe Farm which has animals, eating place and gift shop.

Lost City:

Colossus: View pictures(>1.4m) A fantastic coaster which opened for 2002 - the worlds first 10-looping coaster, apparently. This coaster is a great ride, smooth and seems fast, and also has some slow 0g rolls which make you feel as if you're falling out. I would throughly recommend this ride - great stuff. There is a picture taken on this ride. The Fast pass scheme operates on peakdays.

X: No Way Out: (>1.4m) This is a rollercoaster in the dark but with a difference - it runs backwards! It appears to have a random element to it because sometimes it goes forwards for a bit then reverses. There is a photo on this ride.

Zodiac: (>1.1m) Like Enterprise at Alton Towers, this carousel spins around fast and then raises up so you acually go upside down.

Vortex: View pictures(>1.4m) Very fun ride - like a pirate ship but goes round and swings. Everyone site round in a circle and the floor drops down then it swings on one axis but the circle revolves at the same time. The swings are higher than pirate ships too, you go almost upside down.

*NEW* Quantum: (>1.2m) Similar to a magic carpet type ride, this is very fast - the platform is suspended at both sides and launches rapidly into the air, forwards and down again. Halfway through it reverses so you're going the other way.

*NEW* Eclipse: (>1.1m) This is an observation wheel which provides a good view of the park. You only get one revolution but the queues aren't bad.

Canada Creek:

Rocky Express: (>0.9m) A childrens train ride.

Calgary Stampede: (>1.4m) Fast g-force type ride where the carriages swing and the arms tilt up at an angle.

Logger's Leap: (>0.9m) Has the highest log-flume plunge in the UK - the 50ft main drop has a ridge in the middle so it almost takes off when it goes down again, and there's a picture in the middle. You get wet on this ride, not only from the main drop but there's a bridge you go under which dribbles water down.

Ranger County:

Mr Monkey's Banana Ride (>0.9m) Pirate ship ride.

Calypso Quay:

*NEW* Nemesis Inferno: View pictures(>1.4m) Excellent version of the legendary original Nemesis coaster at Alton Towers. I actually prefer this version as it seemed smoother, but most people prefer the original. There is a photo taken, and the fast pass scheme operates on peak days. The ride was actually stopped for most of the day when we went - a problem with the hill lift mechanism apparently, but fortunatley we got a chance to go on it early.

Rhumba River Rapids: (>0.9m) River rapids ride, lots of fun - usual warnings about getting wet though. This used to be Thunder River before being rethemed. There is a photo taken on this ride.

Flying Fish: (>0.9m) A small but fun rollercoaster that travels in a figure-8 shape.

Teacup Twisters: (>0.9m) Classic teacup ride where you can spin the 'teacup' round.

Detonator: View pictures(>1.3m) 100ft tower drop ride.

Amity Cove:

Tidal Wave: View pictures(>1.2m) Great water-drop ride with an 85ft drop, you get VERY wet on this one. A photo is taken.

Neptune's Kindom:

Depth Charge: (>0.9m) Water slide ride - there are 4 lanes, and photos are taken on this ride.

Octopus' Garden:

Childrens rides with max height of 1.2m.
Ollie Octopus, Slippery Serpent, Up Periscope, Happy Halibuts, Galleon Race, Swinging Seashells, and Fantasy Fish.
