This is it, the one that started it all
- originally shown in two parts. Pressured to prove his theories
or lose funding, Dr Beckett stepped into the project accelerator
- and vanished. His time travel experiment was a success, but he
was stuck back in 1956. Ziggy decided that his best chance of
getting back was to 'right a wrong' in Tom Stratton's (the person
he leaped into) life. He has to break Mach-3 in an experimental
aircraft.
He then leaped into a baseball player and had to help the team to
stay up in the league.
Sam is a drunken professor at Lawrence College - the same college as Donna, the woman who walked out on him when she and Sam were getting married. Sam breaks his own rules of time travel to try and get back together with her.
Sam is Kid Cody, a boxer. He has to win a championship fight so the nuns can build a new chapel, but a crooked promoter expects Kid Cody to throw the match.
Sam has to outrope, outride, outdrink & generally outdo Tess McGill for her hand in marriage and her father's 50000 acres of land.
Sam is a mafia hitman, and he's seeing the godfather's girlfriend! Sam has to duplicate the original history while the project attempts to bring him home.
Sam is the driver of an old lady, and has to make sure she doesn't die in an accident - which is made harder by the fact that he's a black man in the South in the early 50's.
Sam has to stop the boy he leaped into's sister from marrying a wife-beater, and probably try to stop this kid's bad case of acne. This episode is fairly light-hearted and Sam & Al seem more happy than in other episodes.
When he leaps in, Sam is holding a gun over a dead body. He later finds out he's a detective and the dead person is his partner. Sam has to find the killer or he might be next.
